YARTS 2023 Season Update for Highway 120

Yosemite Area Regional Transportation Service has been postponed due to roadwork taking place just inside the park on the Highway 120 route. The road work should be complete by mid June to mid July. Until then, all travel into Yosemite along highway 120 will be blocked.
Here's a quote from the YARTS website:
"Yosemite National Park has announced that Big Oak Flat Road (continuation of Highway 120 west into Yosemite) is closed from just inside the park boundary to Merced Grove, due to a crack in the roadway that prevents safe transit along this section of Highway 120. The road will be closed at least until mid-June and possibly into July.
YARTS Highway 120 reservations have been temporarily suspended until further notice."
I think updates like this are really important for travelers planning a visit to Yosemite, even though road closures can definitely be disappointing. Safety has to come first, and it sounds like the repairs are necessary before travel can safely resume on Highway 120. I would probably adjust my plans and stay updated until the route reopens. In the meantime, I might spend some extra time enjoying hobbies like EaglerCraft while waiting for better travel conditions.
